Youth Against Tribalism In Africa

One Africa.
One People.
One Future.

YATIA-Africa mobilizes youth across the continent to end tribalism, stop wars, and build a united, peaceful Africa.

01 / Our mission

Unity is a decision we make together.

We are a youth-led Pan-African movement confronting the divisions that hold our continent back—and organizing for the peace, freedom and solidarity Africa deserves.

From shared conviction to public action.

YATIA-Africa fights tribalism, ethnic discrimination and violent conflict. We advocate for civilians in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, mobilize young people in their communities, and press the African Union to turn the promise of One Africa into practical progress.

02 / Campaigns

Where we focus now.

Five urgent fronts. One continental principle: African lives and African unity cannot wait.

01

Peace for Sudan

We call for an immediate ceasefire, protection of civilians and unhindered humanitarian access—while keeping Sudanese voices at the center.

Ceasefire now
02

Peace for the DR Congo

We advocate for an end to violence in eastern DRC, meaningful regional action and justice for communities carrying the cost of conflict.

Justice for victims
03

Borderless Africa

We call on Africa to tear down colonial-era borders: free movement for Africans, one African passport and an end to visa barriers between African countries. Africa is one homeland. The tribe is Africa.

Youth Chapters

Campus and community chapters give young leaders the tools to challenge prejudice, convene dialogue and organize practical peacebuilding work.

03 / Our story

Liberian roots. Pan-African purpose.

Founded in Liberia in 2009, YATIA began with a clear belief: young people can break the cycles of discrimination and conflict. That foundation now powers a continental vision.

2009

A youth movement begins

YATIA was founded to advance peaceful coexistence, human rights, education, democracy and youth capacity in Liberia.

Allies

Partnership in practice

Our work has included partnerships with Liberia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, Liberia Peacebuilding Office, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, UNICEF, IOM, the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia, and rural Liberian communities.

Today

A continental horizon

We are growing from a nationally rooted organization into a Pan-African movement for youth mobilization, peace advocacy and accountable continental leadership.

Building resilience, tolerance, peace and diversity beyond race, ethnicity and religion across communities.
